| 英文描述 | DUMPS, deficiency of uridine monophosphate synthase, is an inherited recessive condition in Holstein cattle. Mating of a DUMPS carrier bull to a DUMPS carrier female should result in about 25% of the offspring being homozygous for the recessive gene, leading to death of the embryo at about 40 days after conception and an extended calving interval. The prevalance of heterozygotes in the female population is low and probably declining as most bulls in artificial insemination have been tested negative for DUMPS. |
